Cote d'Ivoire is a country in south West Africa and borders the countries of Liberia, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso and Ghana. The official language is French but other languages are commonly used as well, e.g. Dioula.
Warning: as of 2011 a severe crisis is going on in the country, with civil unrest and widespread violence. Possibly not a good idea to hitch around until this is settled.
