24, living in [[Deventer]], the [[Netherlands]], a small city somewhere on the road between [[Amsterdam]] and [[Berlin]]. Hitchhiking since July 2011. Originally saw it as a cheap, flexible and fun way to get around, since I grew tired of having to buy train/plane tickets to my girlfriend all the time and have to stick to that schedule. I also enjoy making drivers think, consider and hopefully decide differently than they're used too ;)

"I enjoy beating my own records and trying to hitchhike as fast as possible without making any 'mistakes' which make me lose time. Basically I just love the tactics and strategy behind it all. Although sometimes of course it's nice to just enjoy being out, taking your time and letting luck take over."

I still love fast long-distance hitching, but I started appreciating just standing at the roadside with my thumb up, smiling and waiting for that one great ride. And if it doesn't come, just pitching the tent early for a long night of sleep!
